BALDWYN – Bobby M. Witt, 79, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany. He was an architect and member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at Waters Funeral Home, Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Rex Yancy officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
He is survived by his son, David Witt of Baldwyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Witt and Mamie McGill Witt.

Donald C. Clark
SALTILLO – Donald Clifford Clark, 77, died Thursday, May 16, 2019, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born in Catlettsburg, Kentucky January 23, 1942, to James and Ella Mae Rye Clark. Early in life, he began working at Tecumseh products in Tecumseh, Michigan and retired after 33 years of service at Tecumseh Products in Verona. He enjoyed playing his guitar, camping, fishing and taking on various do-it-yourself projects including rebuilding an older home. He loved his family, spending time with his grandchildren, caring for his yorkie, Casey, and was an avid conversationalist.
Survivors include three daughters, Jeanelle Clark Williams and her husband, Lee of Evansville, Indiana, Chrissy Clark and her fiance, Russell Sanders of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Lynn Clark of Greenville, South Carolina; one son, Robert Clark and his wife, Jenny of Saltillo; six grandchildren, Katelyn Mitchell, Scott Kalishek, Michael Pickett and his wife, Melissa, Tizi Ani Clark, Vera Lynn McGahee and Riley McGahee; and three great-grandchildren, Aron Mitchell, Freyja Wales and Charlotte Pickett.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara Clark; sister, Carolyn Harger; and brother, Jesse Clark.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Sunday, May 18, 2019 at W.E. Pegues, Saltillo.
Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, May 18, 2019 at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Neal Ramage officiating.

NEW ALBANY – Helen Marie Robertson Arnold, 75, passed away Friday, May 17, 2019 at Mykales Residential Living in New Albany. She was born on September 5, 1943 in New Albany to William Lee Robertson and Etoile Eugenia Smith Robertson. She was a retired operator for Cincinnati Bell. She was a baseball fan and was a member of First Baptist Church of New Albany.

NETTLETON – Martha R. Brown Chaney, 95, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at her residence. She was born on March 13, 1924 in High Point to W.J. and Irene Reagin Brown. She was a native of Winston County, but had resided in Nettleton for the past 75 years, was a homemaker and was also employed at several retail stores, and was a member of the Temple Grove Baptist Church. Martha enjoyed quilting, cooking, cross word puzzles, & being with her family.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with her nephews, the Rev. Truman Thompson and the Rev. Phil Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park in Verona.
Survivors include one daughter, Kim Corzine and her devoted son-in-law, Charlie of Nettleton; her God Family she was blessed with, Carol Springfield Carman; two grandchildren, John Tyler Carman (Jesse) and Molly Katy Nelson (Alex); two great grandchildren, Kyleigh and Kaden Nelson; several nieces and nephews who cherished her for generation after generation for the love she so freely gave; her special treasured friends, Mary Hairold & Gee Coggin, both of Nettleton, & Kathleen Weeks of High Point.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Odessel “Dick” Chaney; her parents; one son, Larry Thomas Chaney; two brothers, Howard Wayne Brown and Reagin “Topp” Brown; one sister, Nan Jones.

TUPELO – Shirley Stephens Collum, 87, departed this life for the life eternal on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Sanctuary Hospice House. Shirley was born in the Kirkville Community of Itawamba County on August 19, 1931 to Walter Daniel Stephens and Lucille Webb Stephens. She grew there and graduated from High School in Fulton. Shirley married Tremon Ezell Collum on Dec. 23, 1950 and they ultimately settled in the Willis Heights section of Tupelo where they lived over 55 years. Shirley loved her home, her yard, flowers and gardening. She was a frequent shopper. She spent over 20 years working at Medical Center Drugs where her smile and genteel personality was welcomed and respected by all. A great cook, Shirley always loved Christmas and decorating her home. Always trying to be ageless, Shirley enjoyed hearing what President George Bush said about his father, President George H. W. Bush at his funeral that he always wanted “to die young as late as possible.” She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church, the Merry Makers and the Sanctuary Sunday school class. Her Church was a special connection for her and she was beloved by her fellow members.
A service celebrating her life will be held at 2:30 pm Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Dr. Forrest Sheffield and Bro. David Smith officiating. Private burial will follow at Benefield Cemetery near Fairview in Itawamba County. Visitation will be from Noon-service time Sunday only at Holland-Tupelo Chapel.
Shirley leaves behind a family most grateful for her love and compassion in their lives: her three children,Larry Collum (Barbara) of Raliegh, NC, Rhonda Quam (David) of Granbury, TX and Mike Collum (Jona Rae) of Tupelo. 5 grandchildren, Chandra Collum Jaeger (Brian), Kris Collum (Jessica), Andrew Quam , Micah Harthcock (Jacob) and Tanner Collum. 4 great grandchildren, Grace Jaeger, McKenna Jaeger, Logan Collum and Lily Collum. Her twin brother, Ken Stephens (Auria) of Verona. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Tremon and 19 siblings including 5 sets of twins (she was the 20th born and the 20th to die)and two grandchildren, Amanda Quam and Rachel Rae Collum.
Pallbearers will be her son, Mike Collum and her grands, David Quam, Kris Collum, Jacob Harthcock, Mark Collum and Brian Riggs. Honorary pallbearers will be her son, Larry, Brian Jaeger, Andrew Quam and Ian Stephens.

WREN COMMUNITY – Jerome Doyle Williams, 70, entered the pearly gates of Heaven on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from his residence in the Wren Community. Born into a family of 8 children on December 29, 1948 in Sulligent, Alabama to the late Mose Jackson Williams and Gertrude McKay Williams, Doyle grew up there and married Patricia Ann Barnes on March 15, 1969. They moved to the Nettleton area shortly thereafter and began their family. Doyle worked for Hickory Springs as a tape edge operator after over 25 years service. A jovial soul who loved people and laughter, Doyle made friends all over the mid-South as he performed with the Williams Family and Still Standing Gospel groups. His voice was stout and distinct and he used this gift from God to bless thousands of souls over his lifetime. His family was noted for their generosity and performed free at hundreds of benefits over the years for those in distress and need. Doyle was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Nettleton, a born again Christian and an splendid example of spiritual strength that others recognized and looked up to. A country boy, Doyle loved his home and enjoyed sitting on his front porch watching his grandchildren, who loved their Papaw. He will be missed by a grateful family and a host of friends everywhere.
A service celebrating his home going will take place at 4 PM Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with his nephews, Bro. Mark Williams officiating and Sammy Collins will read the obituary. Doyle will personally sing many of his favorite songs over the years from his CD collection Private burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery near Nettleton. Visitation will be from 4 PM-8 PM today (5/18/2019) and from 3 PM-service time on Sunday, all at Holland-Tupelo Chapel which is honored to be serving their friends and neighbors.

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his sibling in laws. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Junior Williams, Eugene Williams, Virginia Godsey, Ludie Johnson, Rayburn Williams and Dean Williams.
