SMITHVILLE – Jade Morris, 10, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at her home. Born Dec. 3, 2002, she was a daughter of Tracy Morris. She enjoyed being loved by her family.
Private services were held with E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in the Pearce Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include her mother, Tracy Morris of Smithville; special friend, Michael Williams of Smithville; two brothers, Christopher Drake Allen and Zackary Allen, both of the home; three aunts, Alissa Morris, Kristan Minor, both of Smithville and Ramona Bachell of England; and grandparents, Brenda and Johnny Morris.
Pallbearers were Michael Williams, Bill Hall, Johnny Morris and J.R. Livingston.
Honorary pallbearers were Christopher Drake Allen and Zackary Allen.
ABERDEEN – Henry L. “Tippy” Crothers, 70, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, in Prairie.
Services were at 1 p.m. Oct. 12 at Baptist Grove M.B. Church. Burial was in the Baptist Grove Cemetery. Belle Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen was in charge of arrangements.
OKOLONA – Elsie Marie Parish, 70, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at her residence. Born Dec. 3, 1942, in Hamilton, she was a daughter of Carl and Mary Pennington Crump. She married Wayne Parish in 1972.
A graduate of Hamilton High School, she honorably served her country in the U.S. Army, receiving a degree as a registered nurse. After serving in the Army, she worked in numerous hospitals for nearly 20 years. Her love for her husband and family was only surpassed by her love for the Lord. She was a member of Carnation Baptist Church. She enjoyed gospel singings and being with family and friends.
A celebration of life service was held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Carnation Baptist Church with Bro. Truman Carter officiating. Burial followed in Coontail Cemetery. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Wayne Parish; sons, Cecil Smith, Steven Trest (Michelle)of Pontotoc, Rickey Trest (Lillie) of San Antonio, Texas, Donnie Parish (Julie) of Montana and Daniel Parish (Elizabeth) of Quincy; sister, Sandra Poole of Hamilton; brother, Wayne Crump (Brenda) of Lackey; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers were Guy Autry, Randy Parker, Jimmy Bailey, Mike Dela Rosa, Robert Cullpepper and Carl Wayne Smith.
Honorary pallbearers were the Ladies Sunday School Class and WMU of Carnation Baptist Church.

Dempsey Floyd Faulkner, 69 of Columbus passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Golden Triangle, Columbus.
He was born June 22, 1944, to the late Floyd and Elvis Roberts Faulkner in Amory. He retired from the U.S. Army in 2000 after 20 plus years of service and as a salesman with Premier Ford after 12 years of service. Mr. Faulkner was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Columbus, the Man Cave Club, and a former member of the Columbus Chittlin Club and the New Hope Service Club. He enjoyed cooking, fishing and traveling.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ron Thomas officiating and Bro. Albert Wilkerson assisting. Interment was in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Detroit, Ala., with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Faulkner, Columbus; one son, Michel (Kelly) Soule, Columbus; one daughter, Crystal (Chris) Childress, Columbus; one sister, Sandra Boone, Columbus; one brother, Rodney Faulkner, Gulfport; grandchildren, Katy Soule, George Childress, Drew Childress and Angus Soule.
Pallbearers were the Man Cave Club men.
