If being a closer, more bonded team really was the missing ingredient for the Ole Miss baseball team in 2015, then the 2016 season should be a fantastic one.<>

The Rebels finished off a great opening weekend Sunday by earning a 16-5 win over Florida International. It came on the heels of two impressive wins on Friday and Saturday for the Rebels, who are ranked No. 24 in the Baseball America Top 25 poll.

Sean Johnson earned the win on the mound for the Rebels, who garnered 12 hits and drove in all 16 runs. JB Woodman had a home run for the Rebels, who were walked eight times during the contest.

Johnson, in his first action in over a year for the Rebels, logged five strikeouts in five innings of work to pick up the victory.

Ole Miss will return to action Tuesday night at home against Arkansas State. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
