There’s a big universe out there and the Dixie Regional Library System is hoping your child will capture the thrill of reading this summer as they discover there is “A Universe of Stories” out there according to the theme of this years program.
Please sign up your child for the summer reading program and commit to them reading 20 minutes a day, five days a week.
Library Branch Manager Annette McGregor said she is pleased to be able to provide prizes this year through a generous donation from the Pontotoc Rotary Club and the monies garnered from the work of the Friends of the Library.
If you read, the reading records need to be completed and returned by July 10 to be eligible for Prize Drawings. Each time you come to the library and check out books, your name will be placed in the drawing one time, and if you complete and return the record, your name will be placed in the drawing 10 times.
There will be special programs each Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Library from music to magic and animals to broaden the horizons and the imaginations of your children.
Today, June 12, there will be a concert by Brian and Terri Kinder, on June 19, David Strange will return with his most anticipated magic show, June 26 Mr. Rich will wow you with his super science, July 3 there will be NO PROGRAM, July 10 G&J Petting Zoo will bring an array of zoo animals for you to pet and July 17 Natchez Trace Park Ranger will be there.
So let’s Discover the Universe through the magic of reading this summer!
