On Saturday, April 6, 2019, as my sister and I were leaving the Salvation Army my car stopped in the middle of the road. It would not move out of the road. As cars passed on both sides of us, passing illegally, my sister got out of the car to direct traffic, as I called 911.
We want to thank the two young women who stopped to help push the car into the Cut-Ups Salon parking lot. Thank you to the City of Pontotoc policewoman who responded. Thank you to the Cut-Ups Salon for letting us sit and wait in their parking lot. Thank you to Johnson's Wrecker Service for towing my car back to our neighborhood mechanic.
Human decency, compassion and Southern hospitality prevailed.
