Clara Swords
Clara Nell Swords, 79, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019 Baptist Memorial Hospital, Oxford, MS. She was born May 25, 1939. She married the love of her life, Sherman Swords on February 10, 1962. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2013. She was a housewife and a faithful member of County Line Baptist Church. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Tammy Wiggins (Jessie); three sons, Joey Swords (Tammy), Tim Swords (Lesa) and Scott Swords (Carla); one granddaughter, Emily Swords; Eight grandsons, Jamie Hollings, Jerry Killough, Kristopher Wiggins, Archie Swords, Matt Swords, Dut Swords, and Jonathan Swords; three great granddaughters, Carsen, Blakely and Laceann Swords; two great grandsons, Logan Swords and Kaiden Lee Hollings; two sisters, Margie Swords of Ecru and Carolyn Williams of Arcadia, FL; three brothers, Mack McGloflin, Rocky McGloflin (Gaye) of Thaxton, MS and Lemuel Swords (Peggy) of Oxford, MS.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her father and mother, Mark and Ira McGloflin; six sisters, Betty Christian, Catherine Hester, Dora Mae Tackitt, Eldridge Brandstrom, Evelyn Standford and Mildred Dunlap; six brothers, Dickie, Jerry, Alfred, Sam, Nathan McGloflin and J.F. Smith; one great grandson, Hayden Swords.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, April 17, 2019 [TODAY] at 2 p.m. at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Joey Swords and Bro. Wayne Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in County Line Baptist Church. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will continue today from 1 p.m. until service time.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Jamie Hollings, Jerry Killough, Kristopher Wiggins, Matt, Dut, Jonathan and Archie Swords.
Alford Johnson
Alford Johnson , 93, passed away on April 14, 2019, at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Serenity Autry Funeral Home of Pontotoc.
Ava Grace Martin
Ava Grace Martin, beloved newborn daughter and covenant child of believers Devin and Autumn Martin was born on April 12, 2019, into the sweet loving arms of Jesus. She was born at 6:17 a.m. at NMMC Women's Hospital, weighing 9 pounds 12 ounces and 19 .75 inches long. As her mother stated, "Ava Grace was too good for this world, so God took her on to Heaven.” 
Ava Grace is survived by her mother, Autumn Hester Martin and father, Devin Kyle Martin. She is also survived by grandparents, Dan and Dawn Hester of Pontotoc, MS, and Bruce and Rhonda Martin of Algoma, MS, and great-grand parents Ralph and Gale Henderson of Tupelo, MS. Ava's aunts and uncles include Kirsten Hester and fiance Hunter Cox and Cody Martin and his wife Kayla. Her cousins include Peyton and Cason Martin. A private family graveside service was held April 16 at Old Monroe Cemetery in Pontotoc County with the Rev. Charles Covington officiating. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me... for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matt. 19:14
Jeanette Davidson
Jeanette Davidson, 93, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019 in Pontotoc, MS. She was known to everyone as Moma Nette.
She is survived by her son, Zane Davidson(Hazel); granddaughters, Donna Collums(Jimmy) and Sherri Wilder(Tim); great grandchildren, J.C. Hayles(Jamie), Jessi Cook(Jaden), Cortney Stieffel(Tim) and Matthew Collums; great great grandchildren, Harper Hayles, Hayden and Brooklyn Stieffel and Wilder Cook; her brother, Raymond Pettit(Marie) and special caregivers, Sherrie Russell, Tami Frizzell and Maribeth Tapley.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Jake Davidson; brothers, Andrew Pettit, Leon Pettit, Otis Pettit and Jimmy Pettit and her sisters, Pauline Washington and Mattie Belk.
Funeral Services were, April 13, at Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Junior Ritchie officiating. Burial was in Cooke Memorial Cemetery. Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc was in charge of arrangements.
Her grandsons and great grandsons served as pallbearers.
Omrie Hayes
Omrie Hayes, 66 passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. He was born in Brewton, AL on December 23, 1952 to Raymon V. Hayes Sr. and Edith Carrier Hayes. He was formerly of Indianola, MS where he operated the Sonic for several years. He moved to Pontotoc in 1977 and owned and operated the Sonic for 25 years. He was currently employed with Security Plus. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, Masonic Lodge, Shriner's and supported the Police Department. He loved helping friends and community. He was a loving husband, father, and brother. He loved the outdoors, fishing, grilling, and growing flowers. He was a devoted Alabama fan. 
Services were Saturday, April 13, at Browning Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Brian Sansing officiating; burial was in the West Heights Cemetery. Browning Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife Cindy, sons Wesley (Ashley) of Pontotoc; Bradley Aderholt (Megan) of Booneville; daughter Katie Stacy (Daniel) of Olive Branch; a brother Ray Hayes (Dorothy) of Albertville AL; and a sister Peggy Tumlin (Mike) of Hayden, AL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers were Wesley Hayes, Bradley Aderholt, Charlie Smith, Daniel Stacy, Wesley Heatherly and Brandon Jarvis.
