Happy Birthday wishes to Tommy Montgomery 7-10, Cindy Collums 7-10, Nicole Brewer 7-13, Jerry Flemons 7-14, Gary Flemons 7-14 and Happy Birthday to our special daughter, Michelle Plunk 7-15.
Donald and Margie Douglas attended a family celebration at the VanWinkle home place in Pine Valley Saturday afternoon. Those in attendance were: Andy and Jackie Myrick, Rose VanWinkle, Brad and Karen VanWinkle and Sam, Lydia and Rowan, Brody and Michele and their family, Valley and Elizabeth and their family, George and Braden Shelton and their family. It was a great afternoon of remembrance and fellowship, lots of food, and fire works for children and adults! Margie said a wonderful day of making great memories.
Billy and Brenda Berry were glad to have Brenda’s daughter, Cherie Wilson from Austin, Texas spending Thursday through Sunday with them. Activities they enjoyed; lunching at Toccopola Grocery, seeing family and friends, eating at Pipatos Mexican in Oxford, fireworks on Campus. Brenda’s son, Gary and friend Michelle came on Friday through Saturday. Friday night they had a meal with family and friends enjoying food, fun and fellowship. Saturday, Cherie, Billy and Brenda went to the Jefferson in Oxford to their dear extended family friend’s wedding, Brooke Whitten and Britt Reynolds. It was a beautiful wedding and Cherie got to see three of her schoolmate friends and caught up on old times. Cherie was so glad to see them and really had a great time visiting. Brenda said, their greatest time was having their children home together and making precious memories. Those from the Toccopola Homemakers who attended the MHV Council in Pontotoc on Wednesday, July 3 were: Zeda Woods, Harley Ann Thorne, Sue Tidwell, Mary Frances Stepp, Bette Sparks, and Margie Douglas. President Linda Deaton called the meeting to order. The devotion was given by Maria Galloway she read from Psalms and led in prayer. The roll was called and minutes read by Mary Frances Stepp. The business of the meeting was: committee reports, council projects (which included pillow cases, large fleece blankets and baby blankets), the Pontotoc County Fair which is August 10 - 17 (fair books, exhibit numbers and tags were handed out). The August Council meeting on August 7 will be bingo day, so bring a $5 gift. The guest speaker for the day was Mabrey Chamble from the Pontotoc County 4-H. She gave an interesting talk on the activities of a 4-H participator. After the meeting Algoma MHV Club served delicious refreshments
Ben and I enjoyed a July 4th celebration at the home of Clyde and Annette Mize in Guntown. There were about a hundred people in attendance and a lot of delicious food. Clyde gave a welcoming speech and led the song, “God Bless America” and prayer before our meal. Great fellowship!!!
Friday, July 5 Ben and I had a cook out with our family; Carlton, Michelle, Catherine, Nathan, Kelli, Elizabeth and Thelma Plunk, Brad, Bart and Shelia Ratliff. Brenda Berry, Cherie Wilson and Leigh Ann Wages stopped by to the see our new great granddaughter, Elizabeth….great family time and making good memories.
