The Falkner football team secured their first win since the 2019 season with a 54-0 Homecoming victory over Thrasher.

FALKNER - The Falkner Eagles broke a 17-game losing streak in front of a Homecoming night crowd on Friday, as they defeated Thrasher 54-0 to get in the win column.

The Eagles struck first with a Chris Nunley rushing touchdown early in the first quarter, along with a Kane Floyd two-point attempt to go up 8-0 early. Gavin Wooley scored another rushing touchdown near the goal-line, and another good two-point try put the score to 16-0.

The Eagles defense held Thrasher throughout the game, keeping the Rebels to under 100 total yards of offense while forcing four total turnovers for the game.

The Eagles offense took advantage of these turnovers at nearly every opportunity, scoring on nearly every offensive drive.

The 54-0 end result marks the first win of Eagles head coach Jeff Anglin's tenure at Falkner, and snaps a 17-game losing streak for Falkner dating back to 2019. The Eagles will look to carry momentum from this game as they proceed through the division slate.

The Eagles will look to make it two in a row when they travel to H.W. Byers on Friday.
