CLINTON – Booneville School District Superintendent Rickey Neaves will become the Associate Director of Athletics for the Mississippi High School Activities Association.
Neaves, who has been Booneville’s superintendent since 2007, will assume the position full time on July 1.
Neaves had previously served as a high school and middle school principal in the district. Prior to that, Neaves spent 15 years as a teacher, coach, athletic director and principal at Saltillo High School.
He is a 1972 graduate of Saltillo High School.
“Rickey Neaves has been involved with academics, fine arts and athletics in this state for the past 30 years,” new MHSAA Executive Director Don Hinton said in a news release. “He is a proven coach and an outstanding school administrator with a terrific record of success in all of his endeavors.
“Rickey is a well-known educator in this state and is greatly respected by those who have been associated with him.”
Also hired as an associate director for the MHSAA on Thursday was Lonnie Tillman, who has been Harrison County’s athletic director. Tillman will become the Associate Director of Activities in July.
