Saturday was another solid day on the recruiting front for Joe Moorhead and Mississippi State.
The Bulldogs landed a pair of commitments – one for 2020 and the first member of the 2022 class.
Lewisburg three-star cornerback Cameron Threatt was the first player to commit on Saturday, choosing MSU over 11 other offers including Kentucky, Missouri and Vanderbilt from the SEC.
The 5-foot-11, 165-pounder is expected to graduate early and enroll at State in January. Threatt made 85 tackles, three interceptions, broke up eight passes and forced a fumble as a junior.
Tupelo tight end Jacarius Clayton was the second commitment of the day for the Bulldogs. A broken wrist prevented the 6-foot-5, 245-pounder from playing for the Golden Wave varsity as a freshman last season.
MSU was the first school to offer Clayton a scholarship and is also being recruited by Alabama and LSU.Â
