Looking Back: Ole Miss went 2-0 for the week, winning 76-73 at Missouri and 85-78 at home against Vanderbilt.
Looking Ahead: The Rebels face two of the SEC’s best teams – Florida and Texas A&M – on the road in two of the next three games. This week it’s Florida (8 p.m., ESPNU) on Tuesday and back home for Arkansas (1 p.m., ESPNU) on Saturday.
Who’s Hot: Senior forward Tomasz Gielo has overcome some recent struggles to go 6 for 12 from 3-point range over the last two games.
The post-grad transfer had 16 points, including a key 3-pointer with a minute left, to lead the comeback at Missouri on Wednesday and scored 16 again as the Rebels pulled away against Vanderbilt on Saturday.
Who’s Not: Freshman backup point guard Donte Fitzpatrick-Dorsey has had some big moments but is just 0 for 1 shooting over the last two games. Fitzpatrick-Dorsey played 12 minutes at Missouri and 14 against Vanderbilt.
RPI Watch: The Vanderbilt win lifted the Rebels to No. 82 in the ESPN projected RPI rankings. Ole Miss is 0-5 against the RPI top 50.
Bottom Line: Stefan Moody is getting stronger, and Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy is hopeful that Sebastian Saiz will return to the lineup soon, perhaps this week. Those two things will matter only if the Rebels get the increased production of others that they showed against Vanderbilt.
