Gator Bowl: No. 21 MSU (8-4) vs. Michigan (7-5), Saturday, 12:30 p.m., EverBank Field, Jacksonville, Fla., ESPN2 (Mike Patrick play-by-play, Craig James analyst, Todd Harris sideline)

As I type this, it's 2:00-ish Monday morning. I'm trying my best to hit the road early to J'ville, thus the really early post. Anyway, MSU arrived a day ahead of me and held a practice inside the Sawgrass Marriott. Hey, it was cold outside, believe it or not.

One thing the Bulldogs will be working on this week – one really big thing – is trying to slow down Michigan QB Denard Robinson. Tough to do, according to coach Dan Mullen.

Michigan had to practice outside Sunday, and without a few players. The wintry weather has made travel tough on some players.

As of this writing, MSU is a 5-point favorite, and the over/under is 58 points. I'll work up a prediction later in the week, but I expect we'll see fireworks. As the Jacksonville Sun puts it, this could be called the Spread Bowl.

State practices at noon (Eastern time) today, and there will be a media availability afterwards. Unless somebody loans me a jet, I won't be there in time for that, but I'll get y'all some kind of update once I arrive.
