Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt will visit Iowa Western College QB Zack Stoudt this week, the website 24-7 Sports is reporting.Stoudt committed to Louisville before opting for Iowa Western College.
He is a 6-5, 235-pound pro style quarterback. He doesn't fit the dual threat mode that Nutt likes, but he does fit the size mode.
Size and a physical nature can increase escapability in a quarterback even if he doesn't run a 4.4.
Stoudt's father, Cliff, was the backup to Terry Bradshaw in the Steelers' run of dominance back in the day.
He's thrown for 1,812 yards, 18 touchdowns and six interceptions this season, and some have him rated the No. 2 juco quarterback in the country.
Kansas appears to be the main BCS-level competition and has been on Stoudt longer. A handful of non-BCS programs are in the mix too.
Nutt has said he wants a junior college quarterback to come in and compete for the job with scholarship returnees Nathan Stanley and Randall Mackey. He's cited the improvement of walk-on Evan Ingram as well.
