The SEC announced its conference slate for the 2021-22 women’s basketball season on Wednesday.

Mississippi State will look to get back to its winning ways after going 10-9 last season with a 5-7 conference record in its first year with Nikki McCray-Penson at the helm. The team also announced the addition of associate head coach Doug Novak on Tuesday.

Ole Miss finished last season 15-12 with a 4-10 conference record, and the Rebels will look to carry some momentum from last season’s postseason.

Ole Miss advanced to the SEC quarterfinals for the first time since 2010 and made a run to the WNIT title game — the furthest postseason run in program history.

The two rivals will face each other twice this season. The first meeting will be Jan. 16 in Oxford before they come to Starkville on Feb. 13.

Both teams open conference play on Dec. 30 as Mississippi State welcomes Florida while Ole Miss plays host to Arkansas.

Tipoff times and television schedules have not been announced.

The conference tournament will be March 2-6 in Nashville.

MSU has not announced its nonconference schedule. Ole Miss opens its season with Belmont coming to Oxford on Nov. 11.
