Delta State advanced with a comeback win Saturday in the NCAA Division II football playoffs, while Division III Millsaps saw its season come to an end.

Delta State trailed 10-0 at halftime against host Elizabeth City (N.C.) State, but rallied to win 17-10. Millsaps lost 21-0 to Carnegie-Mellon in Pittsburgh.

The Statesmen (10-2) advance to a road game next Saturday against CIAA champion North Carolina Central (11-0).

Delta State scored 17 third-quarter points to secure the victory.

DSU quarterback Scott Eyster shooks off two first-half interceptions to finish 22-of-41 for 290 yards. His favorite target was senior Robeert Davis (11 catches, 169 yards).

The Statesmen held Elizabeth City to just 134 yards total offense.

Carnegie-Mellon's third-ranked defense posted its third shutout of the season to end the year for Millsaps (7-4).

Josh Hanna, a senior from Booneville, led Millsaps with nine catches for 67 yards. Amory freshman linebacker David Dale made 11 tackles.
