Some area basketball stars are hitting the hardwood one more time.
The annual Northeast Mississippi Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Games are set for today at Booneville High School. There will be four games, starting at 1 p.m.
The event is for outgoing seniors. Among the participants are Ingomar’s Gara Beth Self and Okolona’s Jacorrius Stanfield, the 2019 Daily Journal players of the year.
Among the eight head coaches for today’s games are Angie Malone, who guided Kossuth’s girls to the Class 3A state title, and South Pontotoc’s Bill Russell, who is retiring after 30 years, 701 wins and two state championships.
