Ole Miss safeties coach Jason Jones has been let go according to an Ole Miss Spirit report.
Jones had just completed his fifth season at Ole Miss. He had previously coached cornerbacks.
Ole Miss is changing its defensive scheme under new coordinator Mike MacIntyre who will implement at 3-4 alignment in spring drills.
Practice begins Feb. 28.
A replacement for Jones may help with linebackers as there will now be four on the field.
Jones played for and graduated from Alabama. He coached at Oklahoma State before being hired by former Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze.
