Mississippi State bolstered its defensive line for the future on Sunday with the commitment of defensive end Davontae McCrae.
The former N.C. State transfer is currently enrolled at East Mississippi Community College where he will suit up in the fall. McCrae chose to transfer from the Wolfpack after redshirting as a true freshman this past season.
The 6-foot-5, 270-pounder from Miami chose the Bulldogs over offers from Arizona, Colorado, Houston, Louisiana-Monroe, Missouri and Toledo.
“Being that I’ll be focused on winning a national title with my teammates at East Mississippi CC this season, I’d like to announce my commitment to Mississippi State University solely because of my aspirations of becoming a college graduate and being able to play collegiate football at the highest level,” McCrae tweeted. “The SEC being where top tier talent is displayed day in and out, I choose to be a part of that talented tradition.”
