Mississippi State made another splash in recruiting on Monday night with the commitment of South Panola three-star safety Janari Dean.

Dean chose the Bulldogs over other offers from South Carolina, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe, Ole Miss, Southern Miss and Tennessee.

“My choice came down to Mississippi State and South Carolina,” Dean tweeted. “I built incredible relationships with both schools but there can only be one.”

The 6-foot, 190-pounder is rated as the nation’s No. 38 safety and the 17th overall prospect in Mississippi by 247Sports.com. He rushed for 2,030 yards and 18 touchdowns for the Tigers during his junior season.

Dean becomes the Bulldogs’ 19th commitment for 2020 and is expected to graduate early and enroll in January.
