WALNUT - Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores announced Tuesday, Dec. 11 that the Town of Walnut would be the location of their newest station, according to Mayor Vicki Skinner.
The truck stop will be located on the north side of U.S. 72 across from the Dollar General.
Mayor Skinner said she is pleased that Love's decided to locate in Walnut and is excited about other possible ventures in the near future.
The new location in Walnut is scheduled to open toward the end of 2019. The more than 10,000 square-foot facility will provide approximately 65 truck parking spaces and up to 40 new jobs to the community.
The truck stop will feature a restaurant but the franchise has not been determined at this time.
According to the Love's website, the company was founded in 1964 and headquartered in Oklahoma City. They have more than 470 locations in 41 states, providing professional truck drivers and motorists with 24-hour access to clean and safe places to purchase gasoline, diesel fuel, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), travel items, electronics, snacks, restaurant offerings, and more.
