Our summer festival season is off to a booming start.  With the Crawfish Crawl in the books and out of the way, we are gearing up for Prayer on the Square and the Star Spangled Celebration.  This year’s Prayer on the Square will be Thursday, June 15, Thursday, July 20, and Thursday, Aug. 17; all starting at 7 p.m. on the East side of the Courthouse.  Come out and bring your chair.  We invite all church groups to be a part of these events.  We are still looking for anyone interested in speaking or singing on any of these days.  Give us call at 662-512-0226 to get on the schedule.

Our annual Star Spangled Celebration will be Saturday, July 1at the Peoples Bank Sportsplex.  Together for Tippah will have inflatables, water slides and a dunking booth.  Supporters of the Tippah County Memorial Veterans Park will be selling hamburgers and drinks.  Ripley Park will be hosting an adult flag football tournament.  All activities will begin at 6 p.m.  The National Anthem will be performed by Mary Alice Clifton.  American Reverb will be taking the stage at 7 p.m.  We will end the night with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.  Bring your chairs and blankets early to get a good spot for the show.

We would like to say congratulations to the graduating Class of 2017, especially our graduating Ripley Main Street Ambassadors.  Thank you for all you have done.  Ripley Main Street offers a $500 scholarship to the Ripley Main Street Youth Ambassador who volunteers the most hours throughout the year.  This year’s recipient is Ambassador Alex Janes of Falkner High School.

Remember to love your local businesses.  Ripley’s locally owned businesses are the best Main Street supporters.  Without their help and the help of volunteers, we would not be able to pull off these events month after month and year after year.

To become a member or volunteer of Ripley Main Street, contact us anytime.  We are located on the Square at 111 E. Spring Street.  Our email is ripleymainstreet@gmail.com or give us a call at 662-512-0226.
