RIPLEY – The primary election for county and state offices was held on Tuesday, Aug. 6. Of Tippah County's 13,947 registered voters, 6,246 or 44.78 percent cast a ballot

All local races had a clear winner in the primary except for Justice Court Judge North Half. There will be a runoff between Tommy Garrett and Benny Jackson on Tuesday, August 27, 2019. Garrett and Jackson are running on the Republican ticket.
