Summer time is almost here and so are the Ripley Main Street festivals.

On Saturday, June 3 come down to the Square from 3 - 9 p.m. for our Crawfish Crawl.  Crawfish or shrimp plates with all the fixings, potatoes, corn, and sausage will be $10.  Hamburgers will be available for those who don’t eat things that swim.

There will be a crawfish cooking competition and tasting.  If you would like to enter the competition, stop by the Main Street office for an entry form.  Entry fee is $50.  We will supply each team with the same amount of crawfish, 25 to 50 pounds.  Contestants must supply the rest; cooking equipment, seasonings, etc.  Main Street will also be selling tasting tickets.  Festival goers will be able to sample each teams crawfish and will vote on their favorite.

We did not slack on the entertainment either.  Inflatables, washer tournament, a crawfish race and music, music, music.  MissOssippi Band will kick the party off at 3 p.m. followed by Sweet Tea Jubilee at 5 p.m.  At 7 p.m., we will welcome for the first time to the Ripley area Tyler Goodson and the Music Stew.  We always have room for vendors.  If you are interested in setting up a booth, vendor fees are $25.  Give us a call or drop by the office for more information on this quickly growing event.

With summer always going by so fast, don’t forget about the Star Spangled Celebration Saturday, July 1 at the Fred and Elizabeth Smith Memorial Park starting at 6 p.m.  Together for Tippah will have a dunking booth and water slides.  Members of the Tippah Veterans Park Steering Committee will be cooking and serving food and drinks.  Ripley Park and Recreation will host an adult flag football tournament.  Music from American Reverb will start at 7 p.m.  We will wrap up an amazing night with the greatest firework show at 9:30 p.m.  Bring your lawn chairs and picnic blankets early for a great spot.

As always, if you would like to get involved with Ripley Main Street, stop by our office on the Square between Dianne Pulse’s office and the Radio Station or call us at 662-512-0226.
